No Fault Teams up with Major League Baseball Charities

July 12th, 2008 - MLB and No Fault Team Up for an All Star Green Weekend
"At the end of the day, it's about the children." This comment was from Dan Quintero, Executive Director of Kips Bay Boys’ & Girls’ Club, representing one of several organizations attending a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony of a brand new No Fault Eco-Play Playground. On Saturday, July 12th, representatives from Major League Baseball, Natural Resources Defense Council, Safeplay Systems and No Fault Sport Group, in addition to the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of America, and over fifty children and parents were on hand to celebrate the new “eco friendly” playground designed and built by No Fault Sport Group and Safeplay Systems. Mr. Quintero went on to say, “Today is an example of a number of organizations stepping up and pouring into the lives of children."
Logistics and a tight timeframe proved quite a challenge on this project. Construction didn't begin until June 25th, and ‘step one’ was to disassemble and remove the previous playground. Initially, David Brantley (Owner and President of No Fault Sport Group) expressed he didn’t believe the project could be completed in the short time frame. However, Jay Ratelle (No Fault’s VP of Operations) and Jennifer Smith (No Fault’s V.P. of Sales) convinced him otherwise. According to Brantley, “Without Jennifer working daily with MLB to iron out the myriad of details for the playground and surface design and Jay making a site visit and coordinating the team, we could not have pulled this off!” He went on to say, “Through hard work and persistence, a task that normally takes ninety days was finished in three weeks!”
As Brantley watched the children swing on the monkey rings, scale a miniature climbing wall, and run back and forth on the black and tan surface, he was extremely gratified.
"These are the projects that we really enjoy," he said. "We've installed high profile jobs for Disney, Universal and the like, but it's these kinds of community projects and partnerships that we love because of the direct and immediate impact on kids and community,” He added, “The focus for the next few days here in New York will be on the Major League Baseball All Star Game Festivities and Yankee Stadium. But today, the kids here at Kips Bay Boys’ and Girls’ Club are the real All-Stars!”
