Synthetic Turf Fields Lower Costs for Schools

September 14th, 2012 - According to a recent article in Star-Telegram, Fort Worth’s Paschal High School and Arlington Heights
High are having artificial turf installed. The main reason is that “maintaining grass fields is costly.” With costs in the thousands of dollars, the district has agreed to pay for the fields using maintenance funds.
The parents of the school district, according to the article, spent years fundraising for the resurfacing.
The fields are used by multiple schools and age ranges to practice sports. With over $20,000 spent each
time grass is refurbished, the synthetic turf will reduce the cost to the schools and community. With indoor or outdoor synthetic turf, athletic facilities and playgrounds benefit from this high
performance system. The turf lasts between ten to twelve years.
