The Evolution
of a Sports Surface Company
David Brantley founded No Fault Industries, Inc. in 1974, as a sport surfacing company focusing mainly on tennis court and running track construction. No Fault quickly extended its reach from a regional basis to nationwide.
Ten years later Mr. Brantley developed and marketed the first poured-in-place safety surface, which utilizes recycled tires and a European polymer. The primary purpose of this poured in place safety surface was to protect children in and around playground equipment. It was initially marketed to McDonald’s Corporation and is currently installed in well over 4500 projects nationwide.
The news spread fast, especially in the theme park industry. Soon our national client list grew to include clients such as Walt Disney World (over 100 projects), Universal Studios (over 50 projects) Busch-Gardens (over 50 projects), Paramount Studios, Warner Brothers, Sea World and Six Flags (over 100 projects combined).
No Fault and its poured in place surface eventually dominated the playground industry as the premier safety surface product. The client list expanded further to include accounts such as corporate hospitals (Bright Horizons, Kinder Care, LaPetite) and military/government (Eglin AFB, Hulbert AFB, Langley AFB, Andrews AFB, Quantico MCAS), in addition to numerous hotels, resorts and private facilities.
By 1991, Mr. Brantley had developed a nationwide sales representation network to promote and sell the rubberized seamless safety surface. The success of this program revolutionized the playground surface industry. In addition to the national sales agents, we developed sales and installation dealerships in Singapore and Brazil. We have installed this playground safety surface in six (6) foreign countries. No Fault’s safety surface role in the playground market has directly influenced the developments of the American Standard for Testing Methods (ASTM) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines.
To date, No Fault has installed well over six million square feet of poured in place surface (worldwide). We continue to provide installation by the most experienced and knowledgeable crews in the industry for all of our customers. This is the primary reason we are considered the standard-bearer of the playground surface industry.
In 2001, Mr. Brantley made the decision to offer other athletic surface products to (once again) meet the increasingly diverse demands of the marketplace. The intent of these new product lines was to not only compliment but complete No Fault’s presence in the sport/safety-surfacing world.
No Fault Sport Group LLC, introduced other products to the market: No Fault Safety Tile, No Fault Sport Floor, No Fault Rubber Mulch, and No Fault SporTurf. These are all pre-fabricated products that are used as viable alternatives to our poured in place safety surface. We are “private label” distributors for all of these products.
The success of all of our products can be attributed to the name “No Fault”. The name “No Fault” is now is the most recognized and respected name in the recreational surface industry.
